Probably not: Often women with IUD have heavier periods. Removing it often decreases flow and duration. It is highly unlike that the IUD in a young woman would have caused significant scar tissue. Time to quit worrying and focus on healthy living.

Possibly: if the IUD was embedded in the wall of the uterus and required a lot of surgical manipulation to retrieve it, the procedure may have induced the formation of scarring inside the uterus. the scarring may have coapted the front and back walls of the uterus and reduced the surface of the lining of the uterus that menstruates. this may be operable. but unless you want to conceive, maybe leave it be.
