A member asked:

How long should it take for a fever to go away after taking tylenol (acetaminophen)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fever: Fever is the body's way of fighting infection so it is not really a bad sign. Fever will break when a viral infection runs its course( 3 to 10 days) or when the bacterial infection succumbs to the antibiotic (24 to 72 hours). So the fever may not break after 4 hours - the expected duration of action of acetaminophen.
