Tetanus booster: You probably don't need a tetanus booster. However, getting the tdap is recommended to augment your tetanus immunity ( especially if you are unaware of receiving the primary shots) and to boost your pertussis immunity if you anticipate having close contact with an infant aged <12 months and previously have not received tdap. Good luck.

Tetanus toxoid: Check with doctor or clinics in which you were immunized and keep a full record. It is not clear which "tetanus shot" you got. The cdc recommends that adults receive a booster vaccine every ten years, and standard practice in many places is to give the booster for a puncture wound when its uncertain when they were last vaccinated, or if he or she has had fewer than three primary shots.
