Depends: This depends on what the pill is. There are different types of medication. Some can cause low blood sugar others don't.

Yes: For a well control diabetic patient fasting glucose(sugar levels) should be between 80-130. Of course is important for you to eat 3 meals a day along with 2 healthy snacks to avoid low levels of sugar.
