Absolutely: If you are a diabetic and you control is in quetion, you shoud check your blood glucose on regular basis. If you are a type 2 and Insulin dependent, you definitely must check your glucose levels. Discuss this wtih your phsyican or a certified diabetic educator.

Yes: On drug that can't cause low bloodsugar, 2-3 times a week, different times of day to make sure your staying stable;and if try a food that might not be good for you, check 2 hours after eating- if<150, enjoy, if >150 your body is telling you not to do it. If on a medicine glipizide, glimiperide, glyburide, Insulin that can cause low blood sugar, must check 2-4 times daily to catch potential danger.
