Occassionally, i have to take a three-day course of dexamethasone. because i'm a type 2 diabetic, it casuses my blood glucose to increase significantly. how soon after taking my last dexamethasone pill will my glucose return to baseline?

Steroids and DM: I would recommend that you discuss with your doctor alternative treatment for the condition requiring you to use oral steroids. It is very difficult to return your blood glucose to normal after oral or injectable steroids. In my experience it has taken as long as 3-4 wks and that is with excellent nutrition and the best oral medication combination.
