Disfiguring fungi?: From your question i can't tell if you have a damaged finger that now has a fungal infection or if the fungal infection if causing your nail to look disfigured. Either way, a fungal infection starts in the nail matrix wh/is at the base of the nail. The organisms have to be killed in the matrix & the infected nail grow out to clear it. This can be accomplished w/medications or removing the nail.
