Miscarriage: The Rhogam shot, is really there to protect the next pregnancy against Rh isoimmunization (usually affects the pregnancy later on). At age 50 a miscarriage is very very common. Pregnancy success starts to decline a bit at age 32 and after 35 it declines even further. Most of the pregnancies I've had in my patients after age 48 have resulted in miscarriage.
