No: Esophagitis is inflammation of the lining of the esophagus. It is not evident on a chest x-ray but may be seen on a barium swallow of the esophagus or, with greater sensitivity, endoscopy of the esophagus by a gastroenterologist.

Sometimes esophagitis is suggested on CT exam of chest by thickened walls of esophagus seen in lower chest
