I Doubt It: The issue is much more likely an arrhythmia the metoprolol isn't able to suppress. An event monitor can be placed by a cardiologist (or better still, a cardiac electrophysiologist) to settle the question for sure.

Unlikely: People do have increased heart awareness but could also be premature beats or other arrhythmia.
