Hematoma: Bruising is nothing out of the ordinary after an injury and sometimes the blood in a bruise will collect into a hematoma. When this blood coagulates it gets hard. This could be the lump. The body should reabsorb this over time but if it grows or doesn't get smaller then seek medical attention.
