Short: You are asking how long a person can live when they are short of breath from liver failure and ascites. This means less than 20% of liver is working. They may require drainage of ascites to breath. The life span is short and requires medical intervention. They may be seeing a liver specialist.

Poor: Unfortunately, malignant ascites regardless of the origin of the cancer is a late manifestation of malignancy. The best we can offer is supportive are and palliation of the pain and breathing difficulties by periodically draining the fluid.
