Ultrasound is better: The best way to determine the presence of an ectopic pregnancy is: 1. A pelvic exam 2. Hcg levels that are rising abnormally 3. Ultrasound ultrasound is a far superior way to detect an ectopic, especially when it is very early. If it were seen on ct scan, then it is much further along and extremely dangerous.
