Diazepam: Can help to relax you effectively if you are feeling anxious about the procedure. Proper local anesthetic makes the procedure very tolerable and painless so try not to get too worked up over it. Please inform the endodontist that you would be taking an oral benzodiazepine for your appointment if they are not aware. Do not take other people's medications, and do not drive while taking this med.

Yes: It will help to reduce anxiety before the procedure. Make sure you tell your dentist that you took valium as it will potentiate the effect of nitrous oxide if he provides it for his patients.
