A member asked:

Is it ok to use valium for a child (vcug) procedure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If dosed correctly: Valium itself is not used frequently for such procedures, but it can be. Such drugs are safe in the hands of a trained physician giving a weight based dose. It is possible that they are giving another drug similar to valium, since the effects of Valium are long, and a VCUG usually doesn't require that long a period of sedation.
