Barrel Chest: Barrel chest is actually the term md's use to describe a rounded, bulging chest that resembles a barrel. Barrel chest is commonly caused by osteoarthritis as one ages. It also may be seen in emphysema (COPD) in its later stages due to overinflation of the lungs.
