Chest Pain Expanded: There are many different terms: angina refers to pain originating in the heart. Pericardial pain (pericarditis) for pain from the sac around the heart. Pleuritic pain and pleurodynia, for pains from spasm of the soft tissues around the lung or chest wall. Costochondritis for rib issues. Heart burn pain comes from the esophagus. Idiopathic and atypical chest pain for "don't have a clue" cause!
