Depends on symptoms: 4mm stone should pass on its own. 10mm stone would likely break up with eswl, but primary stent placement might be required if severe right sided flank pain present. Metabolic stone evaluation necessary in view of bilateral stones. Probably have seen a urologist as ur aware of hydronephrosis & stone pathology. Certainly discuss with him/her.

Both can be...: With today's fine instruments and professional proficiency, the 4-mm stone at left uvj usually can be removed easily possibly with no stent, but no one can guarantee. For right upper ureteral stone, it can be treated either way with eswl or scope, and i prefer to get it broke ; removed through scope ; short-term stent. Remember: after all, physician is not magician, despite applying modern device.
