A member asked:

My 1 month old daughter is diagnosed w/amoebiasis. she's taking her medicine (metronidazole) for a week now. still pooping 4-6x a day. what to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Amoebiasis: The most important thing is - did she get cured of it or not. The frequency of stools will hopefully slow down once the infection is cured. Another thing is that stool frequency of 4-6x/day is not abnormal even in healthy children of 1 month of age, so i would not necessarily attribute it to amoebiasis.
