These are different: Diagnosis. People with depression may have bouts with depression followed by periods when they are less depressed. Bipolar disorder is a physical illness like diabetes that does not go away, it simply can be controlled using and adjusting the proper medication throughout your life. Having a good psychotherapist and psychiatrist is imperative. I hope this helps. Find out what your diagnosis is.

DEPRESSION: These are two different terms. Get an evaluation from a psychiatrist to help identify what depression/bipolar means to you and whatever else may be bothering you. Consider recommendations for medication if any are given. Get a referral for a reputable psychotherapist to speak with. Meds and therapy combined are most optimal; no just one or the other.
