Treating bipolar: PLEASE!! - tell your doctor about your financial situation - he/she may be able to find a generic medication that can treat your condition Also - if they want a brand name medication many pharmaceutical companies have low income/indigent programs. Lastly check with your county or state mental health office - sometimes they have grant programs.

I don't know: where you live but there are free or sliding fee scale clinics in some areas. There are also generic forms of some medications that can be purchased very inexpensively. Let your provider know about your finances - so that med decisions can be made that take that into account. Take care.

Insurance: Ask your insurance carrier about who is on their panel nearby where you live. If you have no insurance, see if you qualify for either Medicare or Medicaid. Both of those organizations have mental health services and practitioners as part of their services.

See your doctor: You may want to see your local community mental health center for evaluation and treatment. They often carry samples of medicines. Also, there are low cost medicines available for treating Bipolar Depression. You are not "stuck". You do have options.
