A member asked:

Six molars are gone, 2 at the top, four at the bottom only 25 years old. are dental implants a good idea?

Maybe: Before committing dollars and time to implants, you will need to commit to a regular and effective oral hygiene protocol: brush and floss daily. Implants require maintenance just as teeth do. They will fail, just as your teeth did in the presence of tobacco smoke or chew, and with out good oral hygiene. Implants are the best way to replace missing teeth these days, in most cases.

Only need 4 replace: Most of the time, first molar occlusion is all you need for normal function. Just use 4 implants for the 4 first molars. Forget about the second molars for now. Implant is the best therapy in your case and the best chance for a restoration to last a life time. Bridge, due to the unparallel issue of the abutment (adjacent teeth on both side), cannot last a lifetime without issues.

Excellent idea: At your age the best treatment for tooth replacement is an implant. Get evaluated by a specialist prosthodontist to decide the best course of action.

Yes: Provided you are healthy and have enough bone dental implants are the best most predictable and long term solution for replacing your missing teeth.

Fantastic: Need to see a Prosthodontist -- a specialist in replacing teeth. Must evaluate spaces, bone , bite, reason for lost teeth, position of remaining teeth, etc. Best of luck.

Of course: However, Ii you are interested in dental implants, it's a good idea to discuss it carefully with your dentist first. Just to make sure you are a good candidate. Good luck.

Absolutely!!!: If bone quantity/quality are sufficient, go with the implants. Be sure to get a CT scan to make sure no vital structures (nerves, blood vessels, and sinuses) are encroached upon. The other option is a partial denture. Yes dentures are cheaper, but at 43 years of age, you're way too young for dentures. If a bridge is an option you'll eventually loose the abutment teeth as well from recurrent decay.
