.: Fever is just a symptom. Need to know why he has it. Need to treat source of fever not just the fever. By carpol i hope you mean a brand of Acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are ok to decrease fever. But need to see physician if your child has any source of infection that may need treatment.
