Usually not: The most common "white spot" on the tonsil is a tonsil stone. Tonsil stones are plaques (like on your teeth) that form in the tonsillar crypts. They can be brushed out with a toothbrush or picked out with many different types of long thin instruments. They can cause halitosis (bad breath). To permanently get rid of them, the tonsils can be removed so they do not form. See your doctor if persists.
