There is no easy...: Answer. I have found that gargling with Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) helps some patients. I have not studied it objectively but in my experience it has kept quite a few patients from tonsillectomy. It is possible this is a self limiting problem that will eventually resolve. If it becomes chronically sore your only recourse might be to live with it or have the tonsils removed.

Tips on care: This is a very common problem. Most people can manage the condition by frequent gargling with listerine or hydrogen peroxide, gently brushing over the area with a soft brush, or using a water pik to dislodge them. Sometimes the tonsils may become chronically infected, painful, or swollen. Then it may be time to consider removal. You will get tips like this when you see the ENT md.
