How long is it supposed to it take for my red eye to recover?

Depends: The cause of it could be many things. It can be due to an allergy which requires treatment and elimination of the source. Infection either viral(pink eye) or bacterial conjuctivitis. The viral conjectivitis will take 1-2 weeks, bacterial can get better with a treatment within 2-3 days. Inflammation can cause redness, antiinflammatory makes it better within 1-3 days.
