A bony point: A sharp point of bone is a spur, yes they can appear in any bone/joint but usually are in high pressure points.

Calcium deposit: Spurs are calcium deposits or injury to the bonr that causes enlargement of the bone as a reaction to trauma. You can get a spur anyplace.
