A member asked:

Is there a way to get rid of heel spurs without having surgery?

No: The spur will not resolve without being removed. But most pain is not from the spur but the tissues around the spurs.

No, but...: Heel spurs rarely need to be removed. They are responsible for pain perhaps 1% of the time. They are not on the weightbearing surface of the heel and represent a calcification of the plantar fascia. Most times the pain is plantar fasciitis, which cna be treated successfully 95% of the time by non-surgical methods.
