A member asked:

I'm just wondering, if you get sick as a child does it affect your immune system?

Dr. John Chiu answered

Doubtful: There is some suggestion that early use of antibiotics and frequent use of tylenol (acetaminophen) may increase the risk for asthma. Overall, your childhood illnesses are unlikely to affect your immune system in adulthood.
