Massage + potassium: If the cramp is only in the right foot, and has been present a week, you can massage frequently to ease the cramp, but should also see your physician for blood tests to check for electrolytes (i.e. Serum potassium, calcium levels). Leg cramps become frequent as a person ages, but occur usually at night or in cold weather. Potassium supplements and keeping warm can help prevent them from occurring.
