3 recommendations: Different if you have stablished cad; s/p heart attack or no history of cad. If u have CAD LDL should be less than 2.59mmol/lt and less than 1.81 if a very high risk of coronary event. If no CAD and just high cholesterol the data is more controversial. If you have high chol and two more risk factor i will treat to lower your total chol:hdl to less than 5.5. If no risk factors see your physician.
