Corneal issue: Changes in the iris are rare and usually accompanied by major internal eye issues such as inflammation or trauma. The dot you see is probably on the cornea and could be many things. If the eye is not inflamed or painful and the vision is normal, you can wait a while but if there is one of these problems then have an ophthalmologist look at it.
