How long is it supposed to it take a very bad concussion to heal?

Give it time: Should stabilize and fully heal by 6 weeks, if all that occurred was a "bad concussion", followed by post-concussional symptomatology. However, some head injuries are accompanied by low level brain injury. If symptoms persist beyond 8 weeks, get this checked out.

Weeks to months: After a first concussion it may take several weeks to months for symptoms to resolve.
