Help what?: If you referring to cleansing your colon..It can clean out your stool, but as you eat stool will re-accumulate. Is there a health benefit? I am not aware of anything signifincant, at least not in the long run. As a matter of fact, excessive use/missue of such can destroy normal colonic bacteria and predispose to other problems/infections. Not recommended. Consult your doc. Good luck.

Help move bowels: No data supporting claims they "detoxify", other than cause bowel movements. No evidence that stool can be chronically encrusted in bowel. No evidence supporting claims that they get rid of "putrefaction". May not "cleanse" as extensively as touted. No reason to do them on a regular basis. Arguably, no reason to do them at all.

Devils advocate: 2 main kinds of colon cleansing. 1) colon hydrotherapy - involves "flushing" out the colon with fluids, is ineffective at best, and potentially extremely harmful. 2) the use of supplements and foods to get you pooping. This can also be harmful, but done right, with high fiber foods, probiotics and judicious supplements, can be very helpful. Most supps should still not be used long term.
