Needs evaluation: This could be something simple like reflux or something as complex as a gastric cancer or hiatal hernia needing repair. If you have not had an egd (upper scope) then you may need one, please see a doctor because over a year is too long to doctor yourself!

Reflux?: Ranitidine is over the counter and 300mg is a good therapeutic dose. If that does not work taken on an empty stomach in the morning after a few weeks please see a doctor.
