A Trip to AA: Alcohol combined with any "pain-killer" can be fatal or at least dangerous. Alcoholic beverages do not effectively treat pain. Consider seeing a dr. For diagnosis. There are a number of treatments that can help without meds like therapeutic exercise, physical therapy modalities like ultrasound and muscle stim, tens and last but not least core muscle strengthening. Alcohol can increase pain.

NSAIDs: Ibuprofen or any other NSAID would be fine to take as long as you do not have a stomach ulcer or significant kidney problems.
