Ortho/imaging: Please see an Orthopedic spinal specialist. An MRI image may be indicated. Use Motrin and local heat for pain control.

Don't ignore it: You may be right, but there are other potential causes. I would like to know about that remote injury, and start with some basic lower back x-rays, while starting you out on a basic course of rehabilitative therapy. I think the key message is not to ignore it.
