External yeast: In general, it is not a good idea to use over-the-counter cleansing products in the vulvar or vaginal area. The problem is that they might interfere with the normal bacteria and predispose you to yeast infections. You can try some over-the-counter Hydrocortisone cream for the itching while you wait to get in to be seen by your doctor!
