Keep seeking answers: There are other causes for ascites, or fluid in the abdominal cavity, besides liver disease. There are also other causes for liver disease besides alcohol use. You should definitely go back to your doctor and might need more tests to find out what's causing your abdominal pain. If you have not seen one yet, a referral to a gastroenterologist or hematologist may help. Good luck!

Ascites: You should have an er and have the physician there drain your asceitic fluid, paracenthesis (p), and have that fluid analyzed. Ascites can come from liver disease other than that due to alcohol. To find out what is causing the problem and to find a treatment, a p is crucial. Good luck.

Rule out cancer: U need to see ur doc for further work up. It's not normal to have ascites. If all the tests are normal, u may need laparoscopy and biopsy.
