Neonatal jaundice: This is physiological jaundice. 9 mg on 8th. Day is ok.You can put him in morning sunlight between 8-9 A.M. For 20 - 30 min, cover his eyes, make sure he doesn't get too hot from sun or too cold from being exposed. Physiological jaundice starts on 3rd day, peaks 5-7 day age, then starts faeding. Make sure he is feeding and pooping well.

Depends: If your son was born at full term and remain healthy, the level of bilirubin is not of concern. That level of bilirubin is also fairly common in breast fed newborns. Monitoring the level is all needed.
