We have leadlight windows in our home and a dust sample tested very high. results were 1980 g/dl. i have a 3 yr old son im so worried about now. we have removed the lead from the windows. once we remove the dust will it ever go back to safe levels?

After taking remedial cleaning, it would be important to monitor the dust again. It would be prudent to get the blood lead level of your child tested and consult a doctor if any remedial treatment may be warranted.

A blood test for lead levels is recommended. Professional inspection and sampling of other areas, including paint chips if your home is older is useful in identifying sources of lead. Please follow up and contact the health department in your area to discuss options. At this age, toddlers often will put their hands in the mouth, and keeping all toxic and caustic substances out of reach is advised.
