A member asked:

I have hypothyroidism, sono showed normal size, no nodules, but heterogeneous, hypervascular. is there a connection to chronic lymph node infections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hashimoto's: The most common cause for hyothyroidism in your age group is hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune disease causing chronic inflammation of the thyroid. The thyroid ultrasound typically shows heterogeneous texture and hypervascularity. Enlarged lymph nodes near the thyroid are also commonly enlarged. However, it does not cause a tendency to more infections.
