Yes, referred pain: The nerve compressed in carpal tunnel syndrome originates from your neck, and travels down your arm into your wrist/hand. A syndrome know as "referred pain" is experienced when the compression causes the nerve to become irritated along its entire course causing forearm, elbow and shoulder pain. Sometimes the nerve is actually compressed in the neck as well causing a "double crush".
