Maybe: Braxton hicks contractions may go away after a shower, but also may not. Sometimes a relaxing endeavor like a shower or bath can cause them to diminish. If your contractions are rhythmic and timed, as you say, every 5 minutes, and last for more than an hour, you should go to labor & delivery to be evaluated.
