A member asked:

Is it possible for effexor (venlafaxine) to help with ocd?

Effexor/ocd: Effexor (venlafaxine) is often used to treat ocd. Often medications are commonly used to treat disorders for which they have no fda indications. The indications require extensive testing and proof to the fda. Often drug companies do not opt to prove their effectiveness as this is a costly and time consuming venture when psychiatrists are already aware of the help the drug gives by its pharmacology.

Effexor (venlafaxine): Yes it can be used, at an optimum dose, but be careful combining it with buzpar due to some elevation in the blood pressure. Discuss with your doctor.
