Depends: Every situation is different so treatment must be tailored to you specifically. Tell your doctor you want to see how you do without meds. Discuss pros/cons and if this is the right time to stop meds. You'll need doctor to oversee tapering/stopping. If OCD symptoms return, you can decide what's best. Stay connected with your doctor. Great that you're in therapy. Hope this helps.

No.: Drugs are not necessary. You can endure your OCD symptoms and probably get through life. But if you want to fully treat your symptoms, then medication is probably a necessary part of the package.

Can't answer: Julia: It's not possible to answer without more information. Your doctor must have a reason for changing your meds. Did you ask? If you didn't, you should go back and ask for an explanation, one that you can understand.
