Crackling kneecaps: Clunking, popping, crackling and thumping, knees can be surprisingly noisy, even without injuries. If you're >50, and have knee pain, creptius can be a sign of osteoarthritis (the wear and tear type of joint problem that comes with aging) or other problems. Or, with no pain or discomfort or change at all, crepitus could just be your talkative knees! no pain a good thing. (congrats on working out.).
