Random onset of pain in knee and back of knee, worsening, unable to flex/straighten leg, cant walk on knee - not injured and the pain is agonising.

Orthopedic surgeon: Your symptoms warrant an evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. Internal knee derangement, such as cartilage tear or damage, is a probability. Steadier knee discomfort could also suggest tendinitis. Evaluation will most likely include an MRI examination.
