Persistent swelling?: Evaluate swelling but this may require an imaging study. Occasionally persistent swelling may cause an impaired sense of smell and nasal steroids may help. However this will best be determined by your surgeon.

No smell after surg: If you have poor sense of smell all the time, then it probably will not improve if it has not improved in 2 years. However, if it returns when you smoke, then there is probably some component of swelling in the upper nose. A ct scan may be helpful to investigate this. Consult with your surgeon.
