Absolutely: Dentists are using amalgam (silver) fillings less and less nowadays. Most dentists now use a tooth colored bonded composite to fill teeth which is blended into the surrounding tooth structure and often imperceptible. It might cost more or not be covered by dental insurance. Discuss these issues with your dentist.
